What It Actually Costs an Ontario Roofer to Stop Missing Calls
TL;DR. Two hundred and ninety seven Canadian dollars a month, month to month. This article shows you the price, the call study that sits behind it, the three situations where you should not pay for it, and a ten minute check you can run on your own phone line tonight for nothing.

Two hundred and ninety seven Canadian dollars a month. That is our flat price for a roofing company in Ontario. Month to month, no contract. There is a $997 setup fee and we are waiving it for the first five roofers in southwestern Ontario who start before October 31, 2026.

That is the whole answer. Most pages that rank for this question bury the price at the bottom, or never give one at all. We would rather put ours at the top.

Here is why we think the price matters less than the thing you compare it to.

We called 20 roofers at nine at night

In August we called 20 roofing companies in London, Ontario at about nine in the evening. Not one of them reached a person. Fourteen went to voicemail. Six did not connect at all.

The next morning at 9:23 we called 19 of the same companies back. Seven answered.

We are not naming any of the companies and we are not publishing any call audio. The pattern is the point, not the companies.

Now put that pattern next to what one job is worth. A Windsor-Essex roofer published a 2026 guide saying a full roof replacement in Ontario runs from $8,000 to over $25,000 for a standard detached home.

A homeowner with water coming through a bedroom ceiling at ten at night is not leaving a voicemail and waiting until Tuesday. They are calling the next name on the list until somebody picks up.

We will not invent a number for you
Plenty of pages will tell you exactly what a missed call costs your business. Nobody can know that without your numbers. What we can say is this: if answering the phone after hours wins you one extra roof in a year, the monthly cost stopped being the question.

What nobody selling this will tell you

A phone that gets answered is not the same as a job that gets booked. There are three situations where paying for a system like ours is money burned.

    1. Your calls do not reach it. A lot of small companies have a cell number on the truck, a second line on the website, and an old number on the Google listing. Two of the three ring nowhere. Paying for an answering system while calls route to a dead line changes nothing.
    2. Nobody calls the lead back. The system takes the address, the problem, and whether water is coming in right now, then texts it to you. If that text sits unread until Tuesday, the homeowner has already hired somebody else.
    3. Your phone rings four times a week. Then you do not need better call handling. You need more calls. If that is your situation we will say so on the call. It is not a good use of your money and it does not make a good case study for us.

    How the setup actually works

From your number to a job on the board

    1

    We point the calls

Your after hours calls go to the system. Your number stays your number and nothing changes for the caller.

    2

    The agent answers

It answers as your company and asks the four things a roofer needs. The address, what is happening, whether water is coming in right now, and when somebody can be there.

    3

    You get a text

Every detail lands on the phone in your pocket straight away.

    4

    Emergencies get flagged

A leak at eleven at night does not look the same as a quote request for a garage.

We do not keep recordings or transcripts of your customers' calls. That is a storage setting we turn on for every build, not a line we wrote for the website.

Week one is boring on purpose. We set it up, you call the line yourself a few times and tell us what sounded wrong, we fix the script, then we leave it alone and let the calls come in.

If it books nothing, that month is free
If the system has not booked you a job in the first 30 paid days, that month costs you nothing. It is automatic. You do not have to ask us for it.

What you can do tonight for free

Do not hire anybody yet. Do this first. It takes ten minutes.

Call your own business number at nine at night from a phone your office does not have saved. Listen to the whole thing the way a homeowner would, standing in a hallway with a bucket. Count how long it rings. Hear what the voicemail says. Then do the same with the number on your Google listing and the number on your truck, because they are not always the same line.

Then open your call log or your phone bill and count the calls that came in outside business hours last week. Not the ones you answered. All of them.

That count is the size of the problem, and it costs nothing to find out.

If your line already does something sensible at nine at night, you are in good shape. Close this page.

If it rings out into nothing, you now know what there is to fix, and you can decide whether our way is the right way to fix it.

See what your own line does

We call your number the way a customer would and send you a short write up of exactly what we heard. No charge, no obligation, and it takes twenty minutes of your time.
